#YesBlackLivesMatter: Injustices Confronting Black Women Featuring Catherine Davis
Covenant Care Services, a state licensed, non-profit Christian adoption agency, hosted an afternoon tea for local ladies in Savannah, Georgia. The tea featured speaker, Catherine Davis, who addresses various issues black women face. From abortion to genocide, Davis tackled topics that most may purposely avoid in hopes of generating some much needed conversation among both black and women.
Along with various other groups like The Living Vine, Shelter From the Rain was invited to speak. Founder and Director, Jennifer T. Graham, spoke briefly on the topic of single parenting and how Shelter From the Rain was originated. The event included a panel discussion that allowed attendees to ask questions in regards to the various resources available to black women in Savannah. Many of those resources can be found here.
